About Mrs. Hallissey
Hello! My name is Kimberly Hallissey and I am very excited to be your student's Reading Support teacher. This will be my 4th year as one of Plainfield's Reading Support specialists.
I graduated with my Early Childhood Education degree from Bloomsburg University and earned my Teaching Certificate. I then went on to pursue my Master's degree in Reading at Bloomsburg University and earned my Reading Support Certificate. I have completed extensive training in the Orton-Gillingham approach for phonics instruction and I have earned my certificate in the OG approach for Level 1 & 2. I plan to continue learning and growing as a teacher to provide the most updated Language Arts information for our Elementary students.
Outside of the classroom, I spend most of my time with my husband Brendan, my daughter Charlotte, my family, and my friends. Together we enjoy vacationing at Walt Disney World and Maryland. I also enjoy crafting, baking, reading, and making music. We are new parents to a baby girl named Charlotte and we have a fur baby which is our cat Stella!
I look forward to working with each family and their child this school year.
